It is with very heavy hearts and sadness that we create this tribute to our dear Raquel Jimenez.  Raquel has been battling cancer for years, and now she is very weak and frail and very, very close to being with the Lord and meeting up again with her parents in Heaven. 

As most of  her close friends and family members will recall, when Raquel was first diagnosed and you talked to her, she was always very optimistic and always said she was feeling good and she was going to be fine.  As time passed and she would receive news of yet another medical condition, she continued to remain positive.  She has been through some serious surgeries and medical treatments that not everyone would be able to endure.  Yet Raquel did, and still to this day her strength, determination and her faith in God have not faltered. 

What an amazing woman, daughter, sister, cousin, friend, and mostly what an amazing mother.  Her son Alex posted this on FB last Mother's Day:  "Sometimes I can't help but feel like I owe my life to my mother.  To say she's always been there for me is an understatement!  Gracias por todo mami, estoy muy agradecido por la vida que me diste."

Anyone who has had the privilege of knowing her knows how much she loves God, nature, her family and "life" and celebrating it to the fullest.  She has expressed that she wants everyone to celebrate her life when she passes away.

We, her family members, have set up this GoFundMe page in her honor and to help Alex pay for the unexpected expenses and particularly the funeral arrangements to celebrate Raquel and her life.  All funds will go directly to Alex.  Hopefully we can raise the funds to make this happen.  Alex has expressed that anything in excess will be donated to St. Jude's Children's Hospital for children with cancer, a cause close to Raquel's heart and to which she constantly donated.
