Maurice Scales, known lovingly as Moe, passed away peacefully yesterday, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and unwavering integrity. Moe was deeply cherished by countless friends and family who admired his commitment to always doing the right thing. As a devoted son, loving brother, steadfast husband, and proud father to six incredible children, Moe’s life was filled with compassion and dedication to those around him.

Moe’s courage was especially evident during his years as a first responder with FDNY EMS, where he stood on the front lines during 9/11. His bravery and selflessness in the face of unimaginable adversity inspired everyone who knew him. Moe carried immense pride in being part of a close-knit community of heroes, walking alongside his colleagues in faith, righteousness, and service to others.
