Marylou Knapp was a cherished friend and a beloved member of our community. For over 40 years, she worked at BriarPatch, where her kindness and caring touched countless lives. Beyond her work, Marylou was deeply loved in her Kerrville Folk Festival community and her church community and was a joyful presence at music festivals near and far—always ready to dance and always there for her friends and always there for the many loving customers she served. Her warmth, generosity, and spirit made her a pillar in our lives, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who knew her.

As we prepare to honor Marylou’s memory, we are expecting a large turnout for her celebration of life. She was truly loved by so many, and we want to create a gathering that reflects the joy and connection she brought to our community. To do this, we have chosen a beautiful venue that can accommodate everyone who wishes to come together, share stories, and celebrate her life with music, dance, and heartfelt remembrance. We want to ensure that her legacy is honored with the same care and love she gave to others. Any additional funds raised will go toward covering her end-of-life costs.
