A Life of Grace and Giving: In Loving Memory of Louvenia Delean Fluitt-Megwara
A Tribute to a Beautiful Soul
Today, we remember and honor a woman whose presence brought light, whose voice brought comfort, and whose heart brought healing—Lolo DeeDee Fluitt Megwara.
Though her life was cut short, and we grieve with heavy hearts, we stand firm in the promises of God, holding onto the truth found in 1 Corinthians 15:55:
“*O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?*”
DeeDee’s life was not lived in vain. It was full of purpose, love, and generosity. A mother, a sister, a friend, and a servant of God—her story was written with grace and compassion in every chapter. And even though the final lines on this side of eternity came too soon, her legacy echoes loudly in the lives she touched.
Affectionately known as “Akuoma”—“good wealth”—by her late mother-in-law, DeeDee truly embodied the richness of humility, kindness, and unwavering faith. A graduate of High Point University, she was both intelligent and deeply spiritual. She was a woman devoted to her Bible, never far from the Word, and always led by it.
She volunteered often to feed the homeless, and her visits to Nigeria opened her heart even wider. She dreamed of building a home for motherless babies in Abia State—an act of love and sacrifice that revealed her heart for the forgotten. Her compassion knew no borders.
But her most precious and proudest role was that of mother. To Amarachi and Ikemba, she was everything—provider, nurturer, teacher, intercessor, and friend. Even after her marriage to RHC Kingsley Megwara ended, DeeDee remained unwavering in her mission to raise her children in the fear and love of the Lord. She didn’t see parenting as a solo effort, and she never tried to erase the father from their lives. Instead, she honored their shared bond and held fast to one vision: to raise their children together, in love and unity.
In that, she showed the world what maturity, peace, and grace truly look like. Her children knew her not only as “Mom,” but as the best mother any child could ask for. And they will carry her legacy with strength and dignity.
Her passing has left a deep and painful vacuum—one that only God can fill. The space she occupied in our lives cannot be replaced by time, or words, or even memories alone. It is a divine space now, held tenderly by the One she trusted all her life.
She who put forth that deed—who loved without limits, gave without counting, and forgave with ease—will be deeply and seriously missed. The end of her path here has come, but her light continues in the hearts of those who knew her. She has entered her eternal rest, but her story—her joy, her values, her prayers—lives on.
As we remember DeeDee, let us not only weep but also celebrate. Let us rejoice in the beautiful life she lived and be challenged to love deeper, give more, and live each day with purpose.
Rest well, DeeDee.
Your absence is profound.
Your memory is a treasure.
And your legacy is eternal.
