Celebrating The Life of Bambi Brooke

Hello Radio City Family and beyond,

Our dear friend and animal hero, Bambi Brook, passed away December 23, 2022. Her daughter Amanda has spent the last two Christmas seasons caring for her Mother while managing the care and performance schedule of the iconic camels, sheep and our favorite donkey, Ted, of The Radio City Christmas Spectacular. I’ve known both of these amazing women for almost twenty years, and I can honestly say that I have never known anyone who’s worked harder or been more generous with their time.

FOR SIX SHOWS A DAY, for decades, Bambi and Amanda and our camel friends were the highlight of all of our backstage and onstage tours. In their limited time between shows, while sleeping at The Hall, feeding and caring for these majestic animals, Bambi and Amanda treated countless performers, friends, families and celebrities like we were VIPs. Amanda just finished the 2022 season and brought the animals back to the farm. It’s my hope that in this first New Year without her Mom, we can all honor Bambi’s legacy and lift Amanda up. With over 100 cast members annually, $20 could add up quickly!

Please give $5, $20, $200 dollars or more if you’re able (That’s for you, John Legend!). The funds earned by the Brooks during the Christmas Show have always gone right back into saving more animals from slaughter. These are not fancy people, and I know that Amanda works no less than 3 jobs at a time to keep their farm going through the year. I know it’s a rough time of year, but no amount is too small or large.

As Amanda Brook navigates this loss while taking care of the animals and figuring out what’s next, I hope that we can give her a moment to breathe and grieve. She’s been so strong right up to this moment, and I know she will do what’s best for the animals and her Mother’s legacy❤️
