Celebrating the Life of Joshua Caine Busterna

A Fundraiser to help with Funeral, Final expenses and a Celebration of Life

So many of you loved Josh/Josta, we wanted to share some with you about his, unexpected death last week.

Despite spending most of the last year in hospitals and physical therapy, Josh/Josta tried to remain positive about the future. In 2018, Josta had begun having grand mal seizures which left him with injuries and symptoms. They increased in frequency, bringing concussions, contusions, loss of balance, and pain. His nose was broken twice, and, after so many head injuries he began to his balance. In June, a very large seizure fall left him with serious head trauma which nearly cost him his life. When he regained consciousness after a few days, he could not walk or talk, and he shad amnesia. Paralysis in his lower legs, chronic insomnia, large tremors and profound depression really took a toll, but still, Josta worked very hard in physical and occupational therapies and these conditions improved somewhat. Talking returned, but he never did walk again without assistance; he’d use a walker or a rollator & on good days, a 4 pronged cane. He had to have big braces on his legs but still fell down a lot. On Monday, August 21, Josta was found in the parking lot of his residence, deceased. The cause of death was repeated multiple head traumas due to frequent falls.

A gentle, funny, intelligent soul, Josh/Josta was one-of-a-kind, whose sense of humor endeared him to myriad folks of all ages. His Facebook page shows many anecdotes, pictures and tributes from his many friends. Joshua’s mild, complex, witty, beautiful spirit made him a delight to have around. The loss of Josta leaves a huge void for his family and friends. He had fought so hard for a long time. Your many prayers and condolences have been a great comfort to his family.
