My name is Christian Barnes, and I’ve been a close friend of Edwin Broomfield Sr. for over 30 years. I was there with him in the hospital to welcome his beautiful son, Edwin Jr., into the world, and now I’m here to support him and his family as they grieve the heartbreaking loss of Edwin Jr.

With profound sorrow, we share that Edwin Jr. passed away on February 28, 2026. He has been welcomed into the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in the kingdom of heaven, where he rests in eternal peace.

In Loving Memory of Edwin Broomfield On Wednesday, February 25th, our son Edwin went to a basketball game with friends. The next morning, he woke up in the middle of a severe asthma attack. Despite life-saving efforts and being rushed to The Hospital for Sick Children, Edwin went into cardiac arrest. He remained there for five days while doctors did everything they could, but his brain activity did not recover. Edwin was only 14 years old. He is survived by his loving parents, who adored him beyond words. Edwin had the biggest heart. He loved his mom and dad deeply, and he was fiercely loyal to his friends. If someone needed a place to stay, advice, support, or even money, Edwin would be there without hesitation. He was the kind of friend everyone hopes to have — generous, protective, and kind. He loved his animals and cared for them gently. Edwin was also a man of God who believed strongly in the Lord. His faith was important to him, and it guided the way he treated others — with compassion, loyalty, and love. We want Edwin to be remembered for his heart, his faith, and the light he brought into this world.
