Remembering Dawn

On May 29, 2025, we lost our beloved mother, Dawn Marie Richmond (Vaughn), whose life was a shining example of love, resilience, and unwavering commitment to family. Dawn was a vibrant spirit from the very start, and her drive for justice led her to earn an associate’s degree in paralegal studies from Sage College and to make a lasting impact at the Drake Law Firm.

Dawn’s greatest pride was her family. She was a devoted mother to four children: Gregory, Brandon, DJ, and Rei’Ana—a cherished grandmother to Remy, and a loving partner to her fiancé Tracey. She filled every day with laughter, good food, music, shopping, and the simple joys of life with those she loved. Dawn’s selfless heart and radiant smile left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Dawn’s Journey of Strength

In September 2024, Dawn was diagnosed with Dysphagia, which was soon followed by a diagnosis of type II Achalasia. Despite enduring multiple medical procedures, she faced the unimaginable on May 20, 2025, when she was diagnosed with Stage 4 Signet Ring Cell Carcinoma (SRCC), a rare and aggressive cancer. Throughout her illness, Dawn’s courage and hope never faltered, inspiring all who knew her.

The loss of Dawn has left a profound emptiness in the hearts of her children—Gregory, Brandon, DJ, and Rei’Ana—as well as all who loved her. We are now reaching out to our community to help raise funds for memorial expenses, to honor Dawn’s memory and provide support to her children during this difficult time.
