In Loving Memory of David “Yogy” Honeywell
My name is Tiffany Howell, and I am the youngest child and the only daughter of my father, David, who many knew as Yogy—and sometimes jokingly as “Asshole,” or the proud owner of the legendary Bite Me Ranch. My dad passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 8, 2026, after a difficult journey with dementia and complications from COVID.
I grew up in Florence, Arizona, a very small town, with my two older brothers, Andy and Robby, who have stood faithfully by our dad’s side throughout the years. After high school, I moved away for college, which meant I didn’t get as much time with my father as they did—but I never stopped being his little girl. Being the only daughter, my dad was determined to raise me differently, with strength, humor, and heart.
My father was a good man—one who tried with all his might to do the right thing, no matter how hard life became. He wasn’t perfect, but he was genuine, loyal, and deeply loving. I was incredibly grateful to have the opportunity to move him in with me for a time as his dementia progressed. During that season, we made memories I will cherish forever: trips to the beach, visits to amusement parks, and a meaningful trip to Florida so he could see his brother Don, whom he hadn’t seen in a very long time.
As dementia took hold, my dad became more lost and confused. All he wanted was to go home. After being diagnosed with COVID, he passed quietly in his sleep—and now, he is finally home.
He leaves behind his children Tiffany Howell, Andy Honeywell, and Robby Honeywell; his grandchildren Damien, Andrew, Jonathan, Mariah, Arianna, Thomas, Kenzie, and Leah; his brother Don, his sister Ruth, and their families; and his loyal dog, Dude, who was always by his side. He did not get the chance to meet his first great-grandchild, Royal, Mariah’s son, but he was deeply loved and incredibly proud of his family.
My dad touched more lives than he ever realized. He had a way of making people laugh, telling stories, and leaving an impression—even if you’d already heard the story ten times. Over the years, so many people showed him kindness, friendship, and support, and our family is truly grateful for every person who helped him along the way. He was a very prideful man, and asking for help never came easily to him—but the love people showed him meant everything.
At this time, our family is facing severe and unexpected financial hardship. I need to return to Arizona urgently to be with my family and help handle my father’s final arrangements. The costs associated with travel, cremation, and related expenses have quickly become overwhelming.
We have chosen to cremate my father and are doing our best to honor his life with the dignity and respect he deserves. Creating this fundraiser is not easy for our family, but we are asking for help so we can properly lay him to rest and get through this incredibly difficult time together.
Any contribution—no matter the amount—will make a meaningful difference. If you are unable to donate, sharing this page or keeping our family in your thoughts and prayers means just as much. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for helping us honor, remember, and celebrate the life of a truly special man.
