Roy Wagoner was truly one of a kind — a Cowboy through and through, both in spirit and in the way he lived his life. Known affectionately as “Cowboy Roy,” he was the kind of man who never met a stranger and never hesitated to lend a hand. If you needed help, Roy would drop everything — even travel across the world — just to be there. To know Roy was to be loved by him. He had a heart full of compassion, loyalty, and joy, and he gave it freely to everyone he met.
Roy lived a life full of adventure and purpose. He loved horses, motorcycles, and everything in between, especially if it meant raising money for a good cause. He spent countless hours riding in benefit motorcycle events, always looking for ways to support others. Roy was a proud Cyclone fan, a devoted friend, and the kind of guy who made sure everyone around him felt seen, heard, and supported.
One of Roy’s greatest joys was being a school bus driver. He poured his heart into that role — not just driving kids to and from school, but getting to know each and every one of them. Roy made his bus a place of peace, safety, and laughter. He believed in those kids with all his heart, and he would’ve moved mountains just to help them succeed. That’s the kind of man he was — selfless, caring, and full of love.
Roy had a light that could brighten even the darkest of days. He danced like nobody was watching, laughed with his whole soul, and made sure that people knew they mattered. His sudden passing has left a hole that words can’t fill. None of us were prepared to say goodbye so soon.
We are now trying to give Roy the send-off he deserves — one full of love, respect, and celebration of the beautiful life he lived. I’m asking for your help on behalf of my Grandma, Sandra Gilliam h, his children and grandchildren he left behind as we work to cover funeral costs and honor Roy’s incredible legacy. Any amount you can give, no matter how small, will go directly toward giving this remarkable man the farewell he earned a hundred times over. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
