Celebrating the Life of Billy Trompeter: A Memorial Fund

Hi everyone,

My name is JJ Kuhn, and I’m reaching out on behalf of the many people who loved Billy Trompeter. I was lucky enough to call Billy my friend for more than four decades. I think we met when we were six years old, and from that point on, he became one of the defining people in my life.

Billy always had a gift for bringing joy into any space he entered. He was funny in a way only he could be—quick-witted, imaginative, and always ready with a joke, song, or story that turned an ordinary moment into something unforgettable, legendary. Whether it was a late-night conversation, a road trip, a shared playlist, or a simple text message (or many really long text messages!), Billy had a way of leaving people smiling, laughing, and feeling connected.

Earlier this week, he passed away suddenly, and the loss has left all of us devastated and heartbroken.

This memorial fund is intended as an opportunity to come together to honor him. The funds raised will go directly to Billy’s family to help cover funeral and burial expenses, as well as the many unforeseen costs that accompany a loss like this. Our hope is to ease that burden to give them space to grieve, remember, and celebrate the son, brother, and friend we all adored.

Billy gave us years of laughter, music, compassion, and connection. Helping carry him home feels like the least we can do.
