Celebrating the Life of Andy Filkins

My name is Jordyn Filkins Siltala, and this isn’t something I thought I would be writing at this point in my life.

On April 25, 2024, the Lord called Andy Filkins to join him in eternal peace and light. May we all find solace in the profound impact he had on each of us.

Andy was a father, a grandfather, a son, a brother, a husband, an uncle, and a friend, as official titles; anyone who knew him knew he was so much more than that. He was the hardest working man to live, an amateur meteorologist, and a beer connoisseur (especially domestics).

He was a source of strength for his family, a selfless man, and the embodiment of finding joy in the simple things.

Although we no longer get the pleasure of hugging him, the joy of sharing a beer with him, or the delight of laughing with him, his spirit lives on in the lives he touched.

In honoring his memory, we are reaching out to our community for support during this difficult time. Your contribution will make a meaningful difference in our lives as we navigate this radical change. Any contribution is incredibly generous and sincerely appreciated.

These funds will go towards covering the expenses associated with his upcoming Celebration of Life Memorial Service. This service will be held at Vista Verde Memorial Park in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, on Friday, May 10, 2024, from 4-6pm. All are welcome at this drop-in service.
