On August 20th, our family's worst fears were confirmed with the heartbreaking discovery of our beloved brother, uncle, and papa, Noly Pagtulingan. For six days, we searched tirelessly for him, getting help from family, friends, HPD, TheBus, local news, businesses, and countless social media shares. We are now left with a profound sense of loss and the sudden responsibility of arranging his final services.
Noly was 60 years old and a truly special person. He was a beacon of adventure and humor, known for his love of exploring the island, from finding the best plate lunches to supporting local businesses. He cherished his family above all else and brought so much laughter and love into our lives with his contagious spirit. He is survived by his siblings, nieces, nephews, and grand-niceces and -nephews who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
In the midst of our search, we learned that Hawaii's Silver Alert program, a system designed to help find vulnerable missing adults like our uncle, was not yet operational. We believe that if this program had been active and running, it could have drastically improved our chances of finding him sooner. We are now sharing his story not only to raise funds for his funeral but also to advocate for the immediate implementation of this vital program.
We are seeking to raise funds to help our family with the unexpected costs of his funeral. Your generous donations will help us celebrate his life and give him the dignified goodbye he deserves. Any contribution, no matter the size, will make a profound difference and is deeply appreciated. Thank you for your support and for helping us bring attention to a cause that can help save lives in the future. Please continue to keep our family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult season.
