My name is Christie Fink, and I am honored to celebrate a true woman of God while grieving the deep loss of Susan Velasquez.

Susan lived a life that reflected Christ in every way, selfless, radiant, and always lifting others up. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and a light in the darkest places. Through her work with those battling addiction and families in need, she brought hope, healing, and encouragement to countless lives.

She is the kind of woman I strive to be every day, full of grace, strength, and unwavering faith. Her impact on this community is immeasurable, and her absence leaves a profound void. Susan lived as big as her smile, and that love reached farther than most will ever know.

Today, we have the opportunity to surround her family with the same love and support she so freely gave to others. Any contribution, prayer, or share is a way to honor her legacy and lift up those she cherished most.

Susan Carolyn Velasquez, born December 27, 1952, in Newark, New Jersey, passed into the presence of the Lord on April 27, 2026.
Susan was a devoted wife, loving mother, and caring sister whose life was defined by compassion and service. She dedicated herself to helping others overcome addiction, offering hope and guidance to countless families.

Her heart also extended to refugees displaced by war, whom she supported with kindness, empathy, and unwavering generosity. A faithful servant, Susan lived her life as a reflection of her deep commitment to God. Her greatest calling was sharing her faith and leading others to Jesus, a mission she carried out with humility and grace.

Though she is no longer with us, Susan’s legacy lives on through the many lives she touched. Her beloved husband, Eli, and her sons, Jonny and David, will continue to carry forward her spirit of love and service. Those who knew Susan will remember her for her boundless heart and steadfast devotion to her family. She loved deeply and gave freely, always putting others before herself.

Through her work with Genesis Ministries, Susan made a lasting impact on her community, transforming lives and offering hope to those in need. Her influence and compassion will not be forgotten. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. We find comfort in the promise that we will see her again in Heaven.
