Ruben was given a second chance at life 9 and a half years ago after his liver transplant, and he never took a single day of it for granted. He lived quietly, simply, and with a grateful heart. If he wasn’t out fishing or golfing, you could usually find him relaxing at home, completely enjoying whichever game he was watching. Those were the things that made him happy, and he deserved every bit of that peace.
He lived with gratitude and loved his family in a steady, genuine way that spoke louder than words. Even though we always knew he was living on borrowed time, nothing could have prepared us for how sudden and unexpected his passing was. It happened quicker than any of us were ready for, and our family is still trying to wrap our hearts around it.
Ruben didn’t have children of his own, but he had many nieces and nephews he loved fiercely and cared for as if they were his. He was also incredibly close with his cousins, who were more like siblings to him. They shared countless memories, laughs, and milestones together, and losing him has left a space in all their lives that can’t be filled.
His passing has also placed a heavy emotional and financial weight on his mother, who is now facing the heartbreak of burying her only son. We want to ease that burden as much as possible and give Ruben the respectful, dignified goodbye he deserves.
The funeral costs have been overwhelming, and we’re reaching out for help during this difficult time. Any contribution, big or small, goes directly toward his funeral and burial expenses. If you can’t donate, sharing this page helps more than you know.
Thank you for standing with our family during this painful time. Your support and kindness mean more to us than words can ever express.
