Celebrating Rita Herzog
Donation protected
Many have been touched by the empathic presence, wisdom, care and love of Rita Herzog.
Rita turned 90 last June. Morris Ervin, one of Rita's students who lives in Cleveland and sees Rita regularly, noticed her need for support, and wanted to co-create an event/fundraiser to both honor Rita and support her in getting a caregiver for a few hours each week.
Rita lives in a care facility in independent living, and now needs more support for her overwhelm in taking care of herself. She values her independence, and is willing to receive support now.
Rita was one of the first Center for Nonviolent Communication (CNVC) trainers certified by Marshall Rosenberg. Her kitchen table was the CNVC office in its beginning. She served on the CNVC board, co-created the Certification Preparation Packet (CPP), and was a member of the CALF team. She is part of the first generation of NVCers, and so much more.
The NVC Candidates/Community Active Learning Forum (CALF) will be offering a space to celebrate, honor and learn from Rita Herzog on April 16th from 9am to 11am Pacific Time, 12 Noon Eastern, 18:00 CET. We will be sharing video recordings of Rita’s past trainings as well as an interview of her by a CNVC colleague. There will be time for you to celebrate her as well.
This GoFundMe will be announced at the celebration and will be available to be contributed to afterwards.
