My dad has spent his entire life doing what good men do: working hard, showing up for his family, and planning for a future he never got to enjoy. He retired only a short time ago, excited to finally slow down and spend more time with his grandkids. Almost immediately after retiring, he was diagnosed with a very rare and aggressive cancer that changed everything.
He fought with everything he had. He endured treatments, hospital stays, and setbacks that would break most people, yet he still showed up for my kids every chance he could. Even when he was exhausted or in pain, he made sure they felt loved, supported, and safe. That is who he is: a man who gives even when he has nothing left.
Unfortunately, his illness wiped out the financial plans he spent decades building. The retirement he worked for disappeared into medical bills, travel for treatment, and the costs of simply trying to survive. Now he is on hospice, and we are nearing the end of his journey.
As his daughter, I am doing everything I can to honor him, care for him, and hold my own young children through this heartbreak. The reality is that end of life expenses fall on me, and they are overwhelming. We want to give him a peaceful, dignified celebration of life that reflects the love he poured into everyone around him, but we need help to make that possible.
If you are able to contribute, your support goes directly toward:
• Hospice related costs
• After life planning and arrangements
• A celebration of life that honors the man he truly is
Any amount helps, and even sharing this page means more than you know. Thank you for helping us give my dad the farewell he deserves.
