Celebrating Resilience: Chemo to Cap & Gown
Donation protected
Hey friends, family, and everyone who may not know me yet!
For those who don’t know, I started graduate school in August 2023, and in June 2024, I was diagnosed with cancer. Due to my cancer metastasizing, I had to undergo aggressive chemotherapy in October 2024 at MD Anderson Cancer Center, which required me to relocate to Houston and forced me to withdraw that fall semester. Unfortunately, the cancer continued to spread, leading to a change in my treatment. I am now on a chemotherapy pill, and by the grace of God, I’m able to finish my degree this semester!
In the words of someone I deeply respect: “Death has to respect my purpose!”
I’ve realized that I’ve never truly celebrated my accomplishments, which often made me feel like I hadn’t achieved anything worth celebrating—but that wasn’t true! I have graduated high school, completed Army Basic Combat Training (BCT) and 31E Advanced Individual Training (AIT), earned my undergraduate degree, commissioned in the as an Army Officer, completed Military Police BOLC, and so much more!
With that said, I am hosting a graduation party to celebrate with my friends, family, and anyone who would like to attend. My goal is for everyone to come and enjoy themselves without worrying about costs. If it’s on your heart to contribute, I’d greatly appreciate any donations to help cover the cost of the party (food, games, and kid-friendly activities).
Your support means the world to me, and I hope to see you there! Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I love you and God loves you too!
