Hello family and friends, my name is Janae King, and I am reaching out on behalf of myself, my daughter Brenaé, my sister Keila, and my dad Patrick.
On the morning of Saturday, 3/14, we lost my brother, PJ (Patrick/Pat/FatPat/Bunk), to a tragic car accident. One month to the day from burying my mother on 2/14 after a tremendous battle with lung cancer. PJ was the oldest of us three children and the only Bunk (Big Uncle) to Brenaé.
To know PJ is to love PJ, whether you want to or not. PJ was the life of every party he went to, the most generous person you may ever meet, and the most hard-headed. He was always getting into something. But if you needed him, he was there, come hell or high water. My brother loved hard and touched so many lives over the years. I don’t know if you could say he had friends; he loved everyone like family. He was proud to be a big brother and a Bunk. He just wanted to protect us and couldn’t wait to kidnap his niece and teach her all kinds of things I would never approve of. And now he’s gone too soon.
This was a hard battle losing mom. If you knew PJ, you knew he was a textbook definition of a mama's boy. He loved his mom to no end and struggled deeply with her passing, maybe even more than us. It could be said mom couldn’t take a piss without PJ being right there.
In all seriousness, we truly believe the bond between mom and PJ was so strong, their lives were interconnected beyond our understanding. We find comfort in PJ being with mom, grandma, and the multitude of aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents before him. We must understand God has a plan for us all and is in full control. We lean on His understanding and strength to get through this.
And though PJ was getting his business in order, he had not yet finalized his life insurance. Which brings us here. We are humbly seeking financial support to help to lay my brother to rest respectfully, to honor and celebrate the light he was in a lot of our darkness. We know times are tough for everyone, and we truly appreciate anything you can share.
Thank you for your calls, messages, love, prayers, and support.
