In Loving Memory of Onie “Void” Stokes
It is with shattered hearts that we share the passing of our beloved Onie “Void” Stokes, who left this world on June 20, 2026, at just 16 years old.
On the evening of Wednesday, June 17th, between 10 and 11 p.m., Onie was involved in a tragic drowning accident. She remained underwater for several minutes before a passerby courageously pulled her from the water and immediately began CPR until first responders arrived. After an extensive effort, emergency personnel were able to restore a faint pulse, and Onie was rushed to St. Francis Children’s Hospital, where she fought with incredible strength for the next several days.
Despite the tireless efforts of her medical team and the prayers and love surrounding her, her body endured unimaginable trauma. As complications progressed and her organs began to fail, Onie peacefully took her final breath on June 20, 2026.
Though only 16 years old, Onie made an unforgettable impact on everyone who knew and loved her. She was a true girl’s girl, with a beautiful soul and a heart full of love for the people around her. She loved makeup, embraced her natural hair, and cherished every opportunity to spend time with her friends, who were like sisters to her. Her laughter, kindness, and vibrant spirit brought joy to so many, and her presence made others feel seen, loved, and accepted.
She leaves behind her parents, siblings, family, and a close-knit circle of friends who will carry her memory and love with them always. While the void left by her passing is immeasurable, so is the impact she made during her 16 years.
As her family faces the unimaginable pain of losing a daughter, sister, and friend, we are asking for support to help with funeral and memorial expenses, as well as the many unexpected costs that accompany such a devastating loss.
No amount is too small, and every donation, prayer, and share means more than words can express.
Thank you for surrounding the family with love and support as we celebrate her life and honor the beautiful memories she leaves behind.
Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever 16. ️
