Celebrating Nazir Uncle's Last Act & Support Fund

Nazir Uncle's last act was traveling to see his ailing father and praying by his bedside. The day after his father's burial, Nazir Uncle began experiencing Covid-like symptoms and was admitted to the hospital. Only three weeks later he lost that battle.

In November of last year our grandfather(PapaJi)  started to get very sick, with doctors only giving him a matter of days. Wanting to see his 100+ year-old father one last time, Nazir Uncle made the tough decision to travel from Toronto to Pakistan to be with his father in his last days. Nazir Uncle was able to see his father for three days before his passing.

The day after Papaji's funeral, Nazir Uncle started feeling a tightness in his chest. He tested positive for Covid and immediately quarantined. Within a week he was coughing so badly he had to be admitted to the hospital. What followed was a roller coaster of emotions for his family, where they were frantically trying to get information from a hospital thousands of miles away. At times it seemed like he was getting better, but then not.

His wife and two sons took the next flight from Toronto they could. By the time they landed Nazir Uncle's condition had worsened and he was in the ICU. A last-ditch surgery to remove a blood clot failed. The family tried everything they could, but on December 11, 2020, only three weeks after his father's passing, Nazir Uncle left this world.

The family is heartbroken, but finds strength in Nazir Uncle's character. We want to celebrate his life - a healthy, generous man who was always smiling and giving to those in need (pictured below is the family volunteering at an orphanage).

Proceeds will be used to support the family in this difficult time (their only source of income is currently their 27-year old son), cover funeral/hospital bills, fund their child's existing mental health expenses, and assist in rebuilding their life. Anything you can give is truly & sincerely appreciated.
