Celebrating Maya Goode's Life

This morning, on April 27th, my brother and I got the call that our mom had passed. She gave everything and anything to give us a good life, even at the sacrifice of her own happiness. All we wanted was for her to finally be free of her bearings and experience the wonders of life for herself. We followed along in her journey from afar, and were so happy for her when she earned residency at the Gyobutsuji Zen Monetary in Arkansas, and again as she posted about her plans for their garden. We're incredibly thankful to Shoryu, her teacher, for taking her in despite not having a student in years. He gave his all to help, and we couldn't be more grateful for his love and support. 

I want to give the opportunity to those who followed in her journey, and those who knew her personally, to offer their support in preparing for any services she will need. She was so happy these past few weeks, and I want to thank everyone for helping push her toward her dreams, even if short lived. That's all any of us could ask for - her joy as she experienced life to the fullest.
