Celebrating Matthew Truss

Our beloved friend and noted international musical artist, Matthew Truss, died unexpectedly from cardiac arrest on New Year’s Eve. Matthew was a highly respected countertenor and teaching artist, passionately devoted to students, the arts and his community. He tirelessly shared his gifts and love of music around the globe through outreach and organizations such as The National Chorale and Professional Performing Arts School, The American Spiritual Ensemble, Berklee College of Music, The Abyssinian Baptist Church and the Metropolitan Opera Guild. Matthew’s untimely passing at only 35 years of age has been a blow to the teaching artist community at large and an unexpected financial challenge for his family. Because Matthew was so very generous in nature, many people have asked how they can in turn be generous toward him. Your donation to this fund in memory of Matthew will assist his family with final arrangements and allow them to have some peace, as they lay Matthew to rest.
