Margaret Fritz was an amazing woman. Not only that, but she was the best mother a son could ever ask for. She was truly selfless, dedicating her life to the success of others whether in the classroom, the neighborhood, or the stable.

Margaret earned her master’s degree from the University of Toledo, where she spent years teaching college reading and college success strategies. She found immense joy in teaching and watching her students find their footing and succeed in life. She was a mentor to many, always believing that everyone had the potential to achieve their dreams.

Her Passion for Nature and Animals

While she loved animals of all kinds, Margaret's true passion was horses. She was a therapeutic riding instructor for children and adults with special needs, combining her love for animals with her gift for teaching. She saw firsthand the healing power of horses and dedicated her time to helping those who needed it most.

In her local neighborhood, she was a fixture of kindness. Living so close to the Metroparks, she was constantly inspired by the nature around her. She was known by all the local children for passing out candy and for her frequent trips to a local barn, where she’d bring fresh apples for the horses.

Family and Legacy

Margaret has now been reunited with her late husband, Dr. Paul A. Fritz, who was also a longtime professor at the University of Toledo.

In her final years, as her memory began to fade, her son Jonathan remained by her side. Living together until her sudden passing, Jonathan was honored to care for her just as she had cared for so many others throughout her life.
