Celebrating Mara Dardon
Donation protected
Mara was the most amazing mother, friend, sister, daughter, aunt, confidant, and the list goes on. Throughout her 62 years of life, Mara brought endless laughter, memories, and adventures to those who knew her. Her love for travel, shopping, and coffee dates were shared by many and those who knew her know that her heart was full of love and life.
In April 2018, Mara was unfortunately diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer and a carcinoid tumor in her stomach. We celebrated her bravery and strength through her treatments, surgeries, and when her skies were grey. Through her 18-month fight, she never gave up. She fought as hard as she could, even when the cancer invaded most of her body. Mara was a believer in Christ and prayed that she could live her life without suffer or pain. She woke up every day and reminded us that it was a new day and to be thankful.
Mara was a hero to some, but to her two children, she was the ultimate superhero. She raised children with faith, resiliency, and strength to withstand even the hardest of times. On the morning of October 19, 2019, Mara gained her wings in her home just as she had prayed for. No suffering, no pain, and ready to be reunited with the love of her life: the late Julio Dardon.
As her family prepares to celebrate her spirit, they are asking for any help, big or small, to be able to do so just as she would've liked: surrounded by love, laughter, and the people she loved.
