Celebrating Lou Zant!
Donation protected
Dear Friends of Lou & Sonja Zant,
You are receiving this TOP SECRET private message because you are lucky enough to be acquainted with these two amazing people!
Whether you are an Ole Miss or Florida Alumni, a Homeboy, a Wedding Planner, a Tuesday Night Market enthusiast, a Cheese Lover, a Winemaker, or a wannabe Sommelier...we all have one thing in common: our love for Lou & Sonja!
I have been privileged to call Lou and Sonja 'good friends' for the past 7 years. I have seen firsthand the trials and triumphs these two have tackled together. If you know their story, you know that these two are some of the most loving, resilient, hardworking, and joyful people on the planet. Life can sometimes be tougher than a $2 steak (as Lou would say)...but these two manage to always come out on top.
For those of you who don't know, Lou was diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure about two years ago, but in typical Lou fashion, he changed a few lifestyle habits and continued kickin’ butt and takin’ names. But like most of us, this past year has taken its toll and Lou has lost a little hitch in his giddy-up. I know Lou would not want to make any big statements about his future, so for now, I'll just say, he is under his doctor’s care, managing his daily symptoms, and remaining hopeful. And while he isn't knocking on death's door just yet, we all know that life is precious and we need to live each day to the fullest. So with this sentiment in mind, I want to plan something extra special for Lou's upcoming 70th birthday (November 24th).
I recently asked Lou if there was anything he felt like he still needed to do, to which he immediately went into a long explanation of his ongoing work commitments and opportunities. When I clarified that my questioning was more of a personal nature, he responded by saying that he has been blessed in life to do everything he ever dreamed of and more.
...BUT that he wouldn't mind laying poolside somewhere.
Lou does NOT know that I am sending out this call to action — and from what I know about him, Lou isn’t the kind of guy who likes or looks for hand-outs. But the hell with it! I've enlisted the help of Sonja to get all of the names to send this message to and to make this surprise come to fruition, and I am hoping that all of us living in tall cotton will show some love for Big Lou with a donation to a Big Ole' Birthday Rendezvous!
I am making arrangements for Lou and Sonja to take a much-needed vacation to a wellness resort in Palm Desert. Your donation will go towards a 6-night stay at Two Bunch Palms, complete with transportation, on-site meals, and healing spa services.
If you aren’t in the position to add to the fund, please know how valuable your words of affirmation and love will be to Lou. So feel free to deposit those messages in the comments below so that I can share your sentiments with him when the surprise is revealed!
If you have any questions or suggestions, please do not hesitate to reach out!
All my love,
