Celebrating life of Andrea Rivers
Donation protected
On February 11, 2023 we lost our friend Andrea Rivers.
It is hard to convey what the sudden and unexpected nature of this reality has meant for her family and friends. We’re reaching out to fellow friends and other caring individuals in our communities to help cover the costs of laying our friend to rest.
In case you didn’t know her, here's a little more about our remarkable friend:
Andrea was born on March 28,1993.
She grew up in Casa Grande, AZ primarily with her grandmother, aunt, and brother Aaron. A soul sister of hers was Selena Valenzuela, the Valenzuela family was significant and important
in her life.
In school she was an incredibly gifted student. To know Andrea is to be almost immediately conscious of how deeply intelligent she was. She loved literature and was a reader. She often had a book with her. A friend remembers her obsession with Jane Eyre in particular. She loved Jane Eyre as a young girl, who boldly, and very funnily, stood up against her oppressors.
Maybe she connected to her because this defined Andrea as well. She was a bold voice in any space she was in and was never afraid to confront injustice when she encountered it. Unfortunately for any who opposed her she had a wickedly smart tongue and a quick wit.
She championed all her friends and she transmitted all her abilities to us all through her proximity. She’d tell us the truth and she believed in our dreams. She was open and transverse between different people, settings, and groups with ease.
Our friend was so brave and made us all braver as a result. We’re so lucky to have known her, to have her love and energy poured into us, and we hope her legacy can live on in all she has taught us.
