Hi friends and family,

As my birthday approaches, I thought I’d celebrate another trip around the sun by sharing a little of what I cherish most — connection, learning, and shared experiences. I am incredibly thankful for the wonderful relationships in my life—family, friends, confidants, mentors — all of whom have invested their time, energy, and wisdom in shaping who I am.

The ability to pursue higher understanding, knowledge, and truth is one of the most precious gifts we have. At its core, the scientific method is about seeking understanding and progress without personal bias — a continuous journey of leaning in, learning, and growing together. I am proud to be a part of the scientific community, even as I recognize there are so many who are more accomplished, more experienced, and more knowledgeable than I am.

If you feel inspired and have the means, I’d love for you to contribute to the Lisa Gither Scholarship Fund. Lisa was more than a mentor and a dear friend — she was a brilliant scientist, a fiery spirit, and someone who exemplified integrity and dedication. When she passed away, a group of us established a small scholarship in her name at SWIC to support students in the MLT program, carrying on her legacy of passion, excellence, and love of learning.

Lisa’s impact in everyone around her was profound. She was inspiring and I'd love the chance to help future students continue to be inspired by her. All contributions will go toward keeping this scholarship going.
