Hi, I'm Alder. I am an artist and student living and working in Portland, Oregon.

In September of last year, my wonderful, beautiful partner Lapis passed away after a six-year fight against glioblastoma. I travelled from Oregon to the Bay Area to be by her side and assist with her care during her roughly three months in hospice. This was a physically, emotionally, and financially draining experience from which I am still recovering almost a year later.

After giving our family and friends time to rest and recuperate from grief and stress, a celebration of life event is being planned for mid-September of this year. As a full-time student and artist, my income is low- I need help making the trip back to the Bay and organizing my part of the event itself.

I am asking for $2500 to cover the costs of travel and preparation. While its difficult to provide an exact breakdown, this money will be broken down into the following:
