We're heartbroken to share the loss of someone who meant so much to so many. He was a man of deep routines and an even deeper heart-- always there with an Ale-8 in hand, a warm smile, and a few words that could surprise you and make you laugh all in the same breath. A die-hard Kentucky basketball fan, a proud dad to Cierra Charles, and loving grandfather to Lilliana and Weston Holbrook-- his love for family ran deep.
He was a man of routine- you always knew what you would get with Jamie. A peanut butter milkshake in the summer (but not too thick!), a night cap of coffee, food that couldn't touch, and everything in its place. He had the mouth of a sailor but a heart of gold. He battled mental health challenges quietly but still found the strength to show up for others again and again, never asking for anything in return, but just because it was who he was.
Jamie loved the outdoors- hunting, camping, sitting by a fire until in burned out, and fishing. But nothing matched the thrill he found in rock and roll and driving fast. Him and a four-wheeler were inseparable. He'd whip around curves like he was born for NASCAR- most people wouldn't even get on with him, but he was fearless and free out there.
He was stubborn, hard-headed, and particular about how things were done, but above all else, he loved people and his family and would do anything for them. Please consider donating to help us give Jamie the farewell he deserves. Any amount is appreciated more than words can say.
