Jakob Butturff, affectionately know as "Butters" passed away unexpectedly on July 31, 2026 at the young age of 32. Born and raised in Las Vegas, Jakob move to Arizon and attended Arizona State University before joining the PBA in 2015. He recently settled in Candor NY after meeting the love of his life Mya to be closer to her and her family. Jakob's accomplishments speak for themselves. Jakob was a 27 time Regional Champion and a 8 time PBA National Champion . He was a Major Champion as he won the 2019 USBC Masters. Jakob was a proud member of Team USA winning multiple medals. Jakob led the US Open both 2017 and 2018 by hundreds of pins and lost as the top seed both times. In true Jakob fashion Jakob took both defeats in stride and was as happy for his opponents winning as he would have been himself. Jakob's talent, passion and impact on the sport or bowling will never be forgotten. His legacy lives on in the countless lives he inspired, both on and off the lanes.

This GoFundMe is for Funeral Expenses for Jakob and his Celebration of Life. A portion of Jakob's ashes will be reunited his beloved mother Bridgett. As everyone knows Jakob's mother was his biggest fan. Jakob adored his mother who he lost to cancer in 2020. Jakob spoke lovingly in every interview he gave after she passed. Mya and Bridgett were the light of his life. Any remaining funds will be used to create a scholarship fund in Jakob's name. Jakob often spoke that kids are the future of the sport and he loved to do clinics with kids. Ripic's Carousel Lanes will also host a yearly Memorial Scholarship Tournament in Jakob's name to raise money in his name.
