In 2017, after having a routine mammogram, they detected an unusual spot. After having a biopsy, it was confirmed she had stage 2 breast cancer and would need to undergo chemotherapy. After many chemotherapy treatments and some radiation, she had successfully finished her treatments and was able to move on with her life.
Unfortunately, in March of 2024, she started having symptoms of left eye swelling and a knot above it on her forehead with headaches. After many weeks and countless doctor appointments, she finally met with a neurologist and had a biopsy on her forehead. It confirmed that her breast cancer had returned and spread to multiple parts of her body; it was deemed as stage 4. For the next few months, she underwent chemotherapy, radiation, and received transplants of red blood cells and platelets.
On February 28th, 2025, she suddenly took a turn for the worse and spent several days in the hospital, receiving fluids and other things to keep her stabilized. She was released, and family kept her comfortable at home while she continued treatment. Her family had a small gathering to celebrate her 58th birthday.
Unfortunately, on March 16th, her time had come. She was taken by ambulance to St. Vincent's East, where she was surrounded by family when she passed. She is no longer in pain and is in a much better place.
She was a loving wife, sister, beloved GiGi to 3, and mother of 9 children. She also had many furbabies.
She had asked to be cremated and to have a celebration of life. Any funds given are to help with the cost of cremation and memorial costs.
