Celebrating Hamish
Hello under tragic circumstances,
Due to the passing of our dear friend Hamish Little a group of us are organising the wake next week (At this stage 3-6 at Centennial Park, Sydney then a pub nearby after but we’ll confirm soon).
Hamish would have wanted it to be an anti-funeral and talked to us about this, so we are sure of his wishes. We’re going to have a party that Hamish would have wanted to attend - lots of colour, no black, bring instruments if you play, share stories or paint a picture/write a story about Hamish.
You should expect an unusual setting with beers, martinis, music, food truck and more.
We are opening this fundraising page for those wanting to contribute, without any pressure of course.
We will distribute the funds to paying for the celebration and to show our love for Hamish and the huge and full life he had.
At the same time, we must remember the circumstances of his death and the importance of looking after each other and ourselves. Mental illness is not talked about enough, and we need to stand up and change this, together. We owe that to Hamish, and to each other.
We will be working with a charity, to focus this tragedy on positive outcomes for others. To reduce the pain and suffering that life can sometimes bring.
For help, support or information on mental health contact Lifeline on 13 11 14, or beyondblue on 1300 224 636.
With love
