Celebrating the Life of My Daughter, Faren Bray | Memorial Service Support

On Christmas Eve, my family and I experienced an unimaginable loss. My beloved daughter, Faren Bray, went home to be with the Lord.

Faren was a loving soul, a courageous woman, and a true encourager. She had a gentle spirit and a heart that cared deeply for others. She loved her family, loved people, and loved sharing words of encouragement and scripture to lift others up. Even while facing her own challenges, Faren remained focused on faith, love, and hope.

Faren lived with several health challenges, including cerebral palsy and diabetes. She was recently hospitalized and placed in the ICU due to a suspected stroke. After two days, her condition stabilized, her numbers improved, and doctors were preparing to move her from the ICU to a regular hospital room.

As she was walking with hospital staff, Faren was quoting scripture and praising the Lord. In that moment, she suddenly collapsed. Medical staff worked on her for an extended period of time, but despite their efforts, they were unable to bring her back. Our family finds comfort knowing that in her final moments, her heart and voice were lifted in praise.

From the day she was born, doctors said Faren wouldn’t walk, wouldn’t talk, and wouldn’t be able to live a full life. But God had the final say. By His grace, Faren exceeded every expectation. She attended school, reached milestone after milestone, and graduated high school. She participated in both special education and mainstream classes—an accomplishment many believed would never be possible. Her life was a living testimony of perseverance, faith, and God’s power.

Faren was also a devoted mother. She loved her son, DJ (Donald Jr.), with her whole heart—he is her only living child. She also carried the grief of losing a daughter at birth, yet even through her own pain, she continued to love, pray, and encourage others.

Although Faren did have life insurance, we learned after her passing that it was accidental life insurance only, which does not cover traditional end-of-life arrangements. Because of this, our family will be holding a memorial service only to honor her life and legacy.

We are asking for support to help cover memorial service expenses and related costs so Faren can be remembered with dignity, peace, and love. Any contribution—no matter the amount—is deeply appreciated. If you are unable to give, please consider sharing this post.

“Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.” — Psalm 116:15

Thank you for your prayers, kindness, and support during this painful time.

With love and gratitude,
Atoy Bray
