Everett was my brother, and he was born with Down Syndrome. He had a way of loving the world that was truly special—he didn’t care about things, he cared about people. His friends, many of whom also have special needs, loved him in the same way. We want to celebrate Everett’s life by bringing together as many of his friends as possible, but most are supported by SSA and don’t always get what they truly need. Our hope is to create an environment where these wonderful people can celebrate their friend without want or worry, surrounded by love and acceptance.
The funds raised will go directly toward covering the costs of this special event. We want to make sure everyone can attend and participate fully, with no barriers or concerns. This celebration will be a chance for Everett’s friends to remember him not as someone who was sick, but as the joyful, loving person he was. I remember one of his friends visiting when Everett wasn’t in great shape—he just sat and wept, asking, “Why won’t he smile?” I don’t want that to be the memory they carry. Instead, we want to give them something beautiful to remember him by, filled with laughter, friendship, and love.
Everett loved the world, and the people who will attend his celebration are his friends—they love the same way. Your support will help us create a day that truly honors Everett’s spirit and gives his friends a memory they can cherish forever. Thank you for helping us make this possible.
