In Loving Memory of Esther Makau
A few months ago, we came together to support our dear friend Esther Makau as she courageously battled Stage IV colon cancer. Your generosity, prayers, and messages of encouragement surrounded her with so much love during the most difficult season of her life.
It is with broken hearts that we share that Esther has peacefully passed away.
If you knew Esther, you know how extraordinary she was. She truly was one of a kind.
Esther had a gift for making people feel seen. Through her photography, she documented some of life's most meaningful moments, weddings, growing families, celebrations, and quiet, beautiful memories that people will treasure forever. Her warmth, infectious laughter, generous spirit, and unwavering faith left an imprint on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
But above everything else, Esther's greatest pride and deepest love were her children, Kanini (21) and Ochieng (17). Every decision she made, every hour she worked, and every dream she chased was for them.
As they now face the unimaginable loss of their mother, we want them to know they will not face this journey alone.
We are raising funds to help cover Esther's memorial and funeral expenses, as well as to provide financial support for Kanini and Ochieng as they begin navigating life without their mom. Our hope is that this gift from family, friends, clients, and the countless lives Esther touched will help ease some of the financial burden during an incredibly painful time and allow them the space to grieve without the immediate weight of unexpected expenses.
If Esther ever photographed your wedding, captured your family, made you laugh until you cried, encouraged you, prayed for you, or simply made your life brighter, this is an opportunity to honor the incredible legacy she leaves behind.
No donation is too small. Every gift is a tangible reminder that Esther's love continues to ripple outward through the community she built over so many years.
If you are unable to give financially, we ask that you please share this fundraiser and keep Kanini and Ochieng in your thoughts in the days and months ahead.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for loving Esther, for standing beside her throughout her fight, and for continuing to love the two people she cherished most.
Your kindness, generosity, and prayers mean more than words can express. ❤️
