A message from Christina:

It's with beyond a broken heart that I come to our family, friends, and supporters with the devastating news that Erik McCornack passed away on January 14th, 2026 after 6 days of fighting. I can't begin to imagine a life without him by my side, and this loss will be with me every second of my time on earth.

I know that the love our community has for my husband is beyond anything imaginable. I am so thankful for the overflow of love, support, calls, texts, and genuine care that you have shared with us. As said by Pastor Daniel, it is no secret that Erik was a collector of people. And wow, was his collection everything and more. It is impossible to summarize the impact he has had on us all. He will be known by his large heart, one that fought and fought until the very end.

Erick was born on January 29, 1970 and raised in Atascadero. He played football for the Greyhounds and took pride in every moment.

I know we all feel the same hole in our hearts, and I know he is with our Lord Jesus Christ and he will carry us through the healing together.

Details on a service will come later, and I ask for kindness, patience, and privacy at this time. Many of you have asked how you can help during this time and in lieu of flower and meals we would appreciate donations for my time to grieve, medical expensive, and his final epic party.

I love you all with my whole heart, because I learned by the best.
