As many may know, our professor, colleague and friend, Dr. Keith Burke, has been fighting a very aggressive form of brain cancer for over a year and a half.

It's long overdue for us to come together to celebrate him and his many accomplishments and contributions to the field of substance use disorder treatment in San Diego. Those who have been lucky enough to be taught by him, or alongside him, know firsthand the phenomenal educator he is. Keith's name is well-known in recovery community circles, he is highly regarded and respected as his work has touched the lives of so many.

Funding that is contributed will offset costs for an event celebrating Dr. Burke on March 17th, 2023 (at San Diego City College's Math & Social Sciences building, Room MS-140). Any funding that exceeds the amount we're seeking to fundraise will be provided to Keith & his amazing wife, Adrienne. We'll encourage them to use the funds as they see fit - be it travel, a tasty vegan meal, medical expenses, or spoiling their beloved pig, Simon.
