In Loving Memory of Camilo Castillo
Our father, Camilo Castillo, was born on May 23, 1938, and lived a long, full, and meaningful life. From an early age, he understood the value of hard work and carried that work ethic with him throughout his entire life.
As a young man, he came to the United States under the Bracero Program, working long, difficult hours in the fields. Through perseverance and dedication, his life took a remarkable turn when he began working with Cesar Chavez. Even though he did not yet know how to read English, Cesar Chavez recognized his potential and helped him develop his skills, and our father went on to become an exceptional mechanic.
On February 11, 2026, our father passed away at the age of 87. He was a kind, generous, and joyful man. He was always willing to help others when they needed it, and he had a playful spirit, always ready with a joke to make people smile. More than anything, he loved being surrounded by his family and enjoyed spending time playing pool and sharing laughter.
He will be deeply missed by all of his children, family, and everyone whose lives he touched.
We are creating this fundraiser to help our family with funeral and memorial expenses during this difficult time. Any support, whether through a donation or by sharing this page, is deeply appreciated. Thank you for helping us honor the life and memory of our beloved father, Camilo Castillo.
