With heavy hearts, we share the heartbreaking passing of my beloved nephew, DeMorris Smith, on September 30, 2026. Although our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that God is near to the brokenhearted and that DeMorris is now in the hands of our Heavenly Father. We are trusting God for strength, peace, and comfort as my family walks through this difficult time.

We are coming together to give DeMorris a beautiful and meaningful homegoing celebration, a time to honor his life, cherish the memories he gave us, and place him in God’s hands. My family is asking for help with funeral and burial expenses. The funds will also provide support for his mother with expenses after the funeral.

This loss has affected my family entirely. One of the hardest parts for me has been not receiving calls or texts from my nephew anymore. That absence is something I feel every day, and it has made this loss even harder to carry. Losing a child is an unimaginable pain, and we want to surround DeMorris’s mother with love, prayers, and whatever assistance we can provide.
