Honoring Nestor Daniel’s Family in their time of grief

Lovingly known as Daniel or Danny, his family has recently lost their oldest son in a tragic motorcycle accident in Caruthers, CA when his motorcycle collided with a car at an intersection. Nestor was only 24-years-old on Wednesday, April 16th at approximately 4:30PM when he decided to take a ride on his motorcycle that afternoon. This was a pastime that he was very passionate about, it brought him great joy to do so. Daniel was rushed to Community Medical Center in downtown Fresno via medavac helicopter equipped for transporting patients in critical condition. He was given emergency surgery to hopefully repair damage that was caused by a serious head injury, however, that night his parents with his oldest sister by his side, were told that this accident was very serious and it did not look good. Sarah, Daniel’s sister promptly reached out to friends and loved ones to pray for her brother and many of us rushed to the hospital to be by their side. His parents and members of a small community were there to give support and pray that a miracle would save our Nestor Daniel. For the next several days, countless people visited the hospital and lined the hallways of Community’s trauma to be together and support this wonderful family. On April 18th, the doctor’s performed assessments on his brain activity and devastatingly found that nothing further could be done medically to save his life. Bravely, much like he was, his family decided to make him a donor and bless others that are drastically in need of miracles themselves. He will be saving lives and bringing life-saving measures to those that need it the most. God Bless, Daniel.
Daniel was the type of person who would do anything to help a friend, co-worker and most importantly his family and his students. He was a valued and respected paraprofessional at his former elementary school where he taught math and English Language Development intervention to our students that were in the most need of academic growth. In that work, he touched the lives of students that others could not always reach and made them love coming to school. Teachers knew that if he was assigned to their class, that he could handle the students, curriculum and would give the students the tools they needed to grow and find success. He was a role model to our young men, respected by all students and he gave them all his time and dedicated vacation and weekends to making sure they were ready to face new challenges every week.
He was also a coach, it brought him great pride to help mold his student athletes into the best versions of themselves, they practiced hard, they won games and tournaments but most of all, they learned to be mature, respectful, disciplined and were able to get the grades to stay on his teams. That is what made him so special. Daniel inspired students and gave them confidence; he gave them what they needed to take CHARGE of their own futures. He was exceptionally kind, he was exceptionally skilled and he will leave behind hundreds of grieving admirers from childhood friends, his loving family, his former teachers, his co-workers and everyone else that had the great pleasure to know his sweet soul. There was so much that he accomplished in his short life. He lived his life to the fullest and loved sharing his hobbies and knowledge with his friends and students. We will never forget the imprint his memory will leave with us, he lives on with us and with those whose lives he is able to save at this time.
Daniel was a talented young man who was loved by his family that he is leaving behind, his two parents and three siblings. It is not meant for parents to outlive their children, and it is heartbreaking that this has now become the reality for Nestor Sr. and his wife, Esperanza. The family is currently making funeral arrangements for his celebration of life and final resting place. Since he was so young and full of life, unfortunately, this family is in need of help from others to give Nestor Daniel a sendoff worthy of who he was. If you are able to donate, please do so here. If you are not able to donate at this time, please keep the family in your prayers and share this GoFundMe for us.
