Our hearts are breaking as we share that Charles is currently in hospice care, and we are facing the unimaginable reality of saying goodbye to someone who means everything to us.

Charles is a loving father, uncle, son, and grandfather—someone whose presence has always been a source of strength, guidance, and unconditional love. He has spent his life pouring into others, always putting people before himself and never hesitating to lend a hand to anyone in need. That’s just who he is.

If you knew Charles, you knew his passion for life ran deep—especially when it came to drag racing. He was an incredibly talented fabricator and mechanic, someone who could build, fix, and create just about anything with his hands. Truly, he was the kind of man who could build you a house or a race car and do it with pride. He didn’t just have talent—he had a gift, and he shared it freely. He loved teaching others, taking the time to show you how things worked, and making you believe you could do it too.

But more than anything, Charles had a heart that never quit. He showed up for people. He gave what he had, even when he didn’t have much to give. He loved deeply, and he lived fully.

Charles was so much more than the struggles he faced. We ask, from the bottom of our hearts, that you remember him for the man he truly is—before addiction, and beyond it. Remember his laughter, his talent, his generosity, and the way he made people feel seen and valued. That is the man we know and love.

Watching someone so strong, so full of life, reach this stage is a pain we can’t put into words. Sitting beside him, holding his hand, knowing our time is limited… it is something no family is ever prepared for.

His daughter is doing everything she can to be by his side, spending as much time with him as possible, soaking in every moment. She has stepped away from work to be there for him during this time, carrying this weight largely on her own—all while still grieving the loss of her mother earlier this January. The strength it takes to walk through this kind of loss, back-to-back, is unimaginable.

We are trying to cherish every moment while also facing the overwhelming reality of what comes next.

We want to give Charles the farewell he deserves—one that truly honors the incredible man he is and the impact he has had on so many lives. During this incredibly difficult time, we are asking for donations to help cover burial and funeral expenses, as well as to hold a meaningful celebration of life in his honor.
