My name is Ryan Grubb. I am married to what I believe to be the greatest woman, wife, mother, and friend that I have ever known. We have been married for over 20 years, and have two wonderful children, Emery and Kennedy. We have what I call in a bias way, the coolest family ever!! LOL-except for me! ha ha!
In 2017, my wife was diagnosed with oral cancer. We met it head on, and worked to move forward and forget what this awful and unfortunate circumstance brought to such a beautiful and caring woman of God. After several procedures and visits to a number of dental professionals (too many to count), she was fitted for a prosthetic that costs somewhere in the range of 10,000. This did not include the thousands of dollars which were already spent out of pocket before and after the surgery for other related issues pertaining to the oral cancer. At the time we were fortunate to have saved a great deal of money and had prepared gracefully in advance for what we did not see coming. Carla has never smoked, drank, or mistreated herself through these types of habits. She always has tried to take care of herself in the best manner possible. When she was diagnosed, we had no choice but to buckle up and ride the wave. This is what we did. But the cancer returned and we are now facing similar, and even more challenges financially than before. Here is what we are seeking to accomplish through this page.
THE REASONS OF NEEDED SUPPORT BELOW:
* MEDICAL BILLS NOT COVERED BY INSURANCE- we have paid out of pocket after insurance coverage over 15,000 in DOCTOR'S VISITS, MRI'S, CT SCANS, BIOPSY'S (five of them FYI-that is expensive), time off of work. (we are self employed!), and OTHER RELATED MEDICAL EXPENSES
* INCOME-as a self employed business owner, Carla owns two successful companies, yet these don 't run on their own power. Carla leads the work and being ill has caused Carla to lose thousands of dollars in business opportunities in her work. Carla's time away from marketing, selling, and creating her brands has produced a decrease in income across the board.
* PROSTHETIC DEVELOPMENT AND CREATION: inn order to get an insurance company to pay for this outright or any % of the product, certain stipulations have to be in place such as military service or some type of policy. We do not have this luxury and this is what the raised money will got towards. When the last PROSTHETIC was made, it cost us over 8,000 minimum. The time and pain for my wife to keep coming back into the doctor to refit the piece over and over again caused more issues than you as a person would ever want to deal with! The mental strain and stress was enough by itself. There are many who cannot get the right prosthetic in our nation who cannot afford to pay the cost for the product. We are not alone!! Trust me!
* HEALTH AND WELLNESS: As a family, we have added over the years more and more health and wellness processes from mental health training, to nutrition, to other non-traditional approaches to establishing increased health. The need to have the ability to serve Carla's needs from a holistic and safer entrance for her healing as a whole. Food that is non-toxic and additional items like essential oils and support will be necessary due to this being a second attempt to rid the cancer. we want to take every precaution possible during this time.
The urgency to raise these funds is high. We are honestly needing to potentially raise the money as quick as possible in order to give my WIFE the ability to pay for the needed Prosthetic for her mouth. The possibility for her to lose three or four teeth during this surgery is what we have been told. This is way more than just a procedure. It is mentally draining on her. It can steal the confidence that she has and my goal is to stop this from gaining and get her on the road to living well again! Imagine having to take in and out a prosthetic in and out of your MOUTH and then having to yet AGAIN FACE CANCER ONE MORE TIME!
I hope and pray you see the help that we need! There is more than you know involved in this process. It is brutally stressful for her, our kids, and family! And the sad part is the insurance companies do not care. We need your help and pray you will see this as an urgent need. Give what you can.
