Celebrating Art Burtons' Mission for Change!
Tax deductible
Hello everyone,
I’m celebrating two major milestones this year: my 65th birthday and 25 years of activism in Richmond’s most underserved communities. To mark this occasion, I’m asking for your support—not for me, but for the next generation of changemakers.
Through Kinfolk Community Inc, I’m proud to lead the Charles S. Gilpin Food Justice Team—a group of inspiring 9- to 13-year-olds living in Gilpin Court. These young people are learning how to grow food, care for the land, and build healthier futures for themselves and their neighborhood.
Over the past 25 years, I’ve worked in some of the most marginalized communities in this city. With your help, Kinfolk Community has helped reduce drug activity, gun violence, and blight—replacing those with clean, vibrant communities, quality homes, and greater food security.
But my most important work has always been with our children—creating safe, creative outdoor learning spaces and equipping them with the soft skills and leadership tools that can help break cycles of poverty and reduce economic inequality.
Your donation will go directly toward supporting:
Gardening tools, soil, and seeds
Outdoor classroom materials
Stipends for participating youth
Enrichment activities and field trips
Healthy snacks and meals during program hours
Help me celebrate this special birthday by investing in our kids and in our community’s future. Thank you for your support, your love, and for believing in what’s possible.
With gratitude,
Arthur Burton
