Update 10/8/25:

I want to send out a big "THANK YOU!" to everyone who's been able to help out so far. Now that some of the chaos has calmed down, I wanted to update this with a little bit more information to explain Alan and Angela's situation with a little more clarity:

The timeframe between Angela's Stage-4 Cancer diagnosis to her passing was about 3 weeks so this was all very sudden. It's important to note that when her oncologist communicated with them, little that he actually did, he led them believe that Angela's chemotherapy would be done via outpatient visits; implying that although her cancer was stage-4, she still had time to fight, and that it may not be as severe as it sounds. Unfortunately because he did not communicate clearly, frequently enough, or information was given to Angela when she was under the influence of pain medication without Alan present, the full scope of the cancer's severity was never communicated effectively.

To further show the suddenness of this, the day before her passing, Angela had made progress with a physical therapist that had been trying to help her improve her strength so she could withstand chemo. Literally overnight she went unresponsive and was moved to the ICU.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Angela Kay Butler on October 2, 2025. Angela was a beloved wife, mother, stepmother, sister, and friend who filled our lives with love, faith, and kindness.

Angela cherished the simple joys in life — spending time with her husband Alan (her “Linus”), loving her family, caring for her cats, and delighting in sunflowers and fresh snowfall. She was a devoted Christian whose faith guided her, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

As we grieve this sudden loss, we want to honor Angela’s memory with a service that reflects her warmth and spirit. Unfortunately, the expenses for funeral arrangements are significant, and we are asking for support to help cover these costs.
