Andre Odell Smith—known to family as DJ Pooh Bear and to friends as Poochie—lived life fully, laughing, dancing, cooking, DJ’ing, and spreading joy wherever he went. With his infectious laugh, legendary dance moves, and a heart big enough for everyone, Andre touched the lives of all who knew him.
He was a devoted father to Jason Laird, Darron Little, Shante Thomas, Keonna Yankey, and Justus Smith, and a proud grandfather to Aaliyah Lee, his beloved granddaughter and the apple of his eye. Andre is also survived by his life partner, Marcia Adams, loving mother Diane Smith, and siblings Michelle Smith-Wilson, Tamar Smith, Milton Freeman Jr., and Myisha Golway, all of whom cherish his memories, laughter, and spirit.
After bravely facing serious health challenges—including brain surgery, multiple heart attacks, strokes, and kidney failure—Andre passed away peacefully on January 18, 2026. While he brought laughter and love to everyone around him, his passing has left a profound void for his family, who now face the financial burden of final expenses and ongoing support.
We are raising $10,000 to help cover funeral costs and ensure Andre’s family can celebrate his life in the joyful, unforgettable way he lived it.
Andre’s spirit lives on in every smile, every dance, and every memory shared. Thank you for helping honor a man who gave so much joy to everyone around him.
