Our friend, Randy Matos, passed away due to complications from Covid on Friday, February 05, 2021.
Unfortunately, I only got to know Randy over the past 4 years through working together at Interport but I have countless funny stories and happy memories of him. I always looked forward to sharing the office with him. I don't think I ever heard Randy complain. His positive attitude was infectious and you could always count on him to be in a good mood and to make you smile.
But Randy didn't just affect me in the office. We became friends and I learned more about him...He loved his wife, Amy, his family, cars, house music, UFC, animals and the Dodgers. He was a trouper who'd battled and beat cancer at such a young age. It's always the goods ones that are taken from us too soon and it couldn't be more true in this case.
It's been a few days since we lost a true friend but I see things that remind me of Randy and I still get the inclination to text him...funny cars on the road, fight highlights, if I need a pick me up or a laugh and so much more. I'll miss having these exchanges with him but I feel thoroughly lucky to have had the opportunity to get to know such an incredible person.
Please keep Randy and Amy in your prayers and if you are able to make any contribution, it is greatly appreciated. The proceeds will all be turned over to Amy for arrangements.
Thank you so much for anything you are able to offer and for keeping Amy in your prayers.
