Amira Kromah
June 7, 2010 - December 22, 2021
After a year and eight months of battling Leukemia, Amira passed from this life on December 22nd, 2021. Her wisdom, humor and sensitivity towards others constantly surprised and inspired us.
She passionately imparted her will to live, love and share to those around her. Even during her chemotherapy and long hospitalizations, she lived life to the fullest. She started a postcard collection from across the US and around the world, read through the entire Harry Potter saga and insisted on keeping up with her schoolwork. She even reassured her little sisters when they came to visit her at the hospital. Her last words to them were “I’ll be watching over and protecting you.” Her faith the cornerstone of her life.
Amira was a bright light that touched so many among us. Her special presence reminded us of the beauty of life and reminded us to be better people. She was wise beyond her years. In her death, it is our desire to celebrate her life.
Amira leaves behind her five younger sisters, and an older and baby brother, her mother, her father, her Ta Ta, and a myriad of family, friends, and strangers whose lives she touched in big and small ways. Amira recruited practically every department at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, their special care went above and beyond and they became a second family to her.
