After more than three decades of dedicated service at GSTT, we are coming together to honour Kim Wall: an extraordinary nurse as she begins her well‑earned retirement.

For over 30 years, she has been the steady hand, the wise voice, and the compassionate heart behind countless patients, nurses, and doctors. As a senior nurse, Kim has guided generations — from brand‑new students finding their feet to seasoned clinicians seeking her insight. Her unique blend of wisdom, wit, humour, and unwavering kindness has shaped teams, lifted spirits, and inspired confidence in even the most challenging moments.

Kim is known for her ability to balance a firm, guiding hand with a soft, reassuring touch. Her presence has been a source of comfort, clarity, and laughter across Theatres and corridors. Students adore her, consultants respect her, and colleagues across all disciplines hold her in the highest regard. She is, quite simply, one of those rare people who makes the NHS feel like a family.

As she steps into retirement, we want to send Kim off with a small token of our affection, a gesture that reflects only a fraction of the love, gratitude, and admiration we feel for her.
