Rene gave love without speaking, it poured out through his presence but especially through his eyes, his smile; that contagious smile & giggle that melted our hearts. He was genuine, and loved each person from the moment he met them. He wanted everyone to find a friendship in him. He extended his strong open arms to all that crossed paths with him. He saw good in everyone. And he loved to laugh and share his heart, his big bear hugs and silliness during any chance he could.
Rene loved, loved, loved all of his family. His love of 16 years Claudia and his daughter, Alessandra, his parents, Paco & Marilu, his brothers, Frankie & Omar, his sister-in-laws, Liz & Brenda, his nephews, Andrew, Alex & Adam. He couldn’t wait for the next family gathering because he wanted to grill tri-tip! He wanted everyone to be together and just spend time. That’s what filled his heart. When he heard cousins were together or in town, he wanted to rush to them, so he could play rough, bear-hug them, and laugh and share. He loved all of his cousins. He thought his girl cousins were so pretty, and the guys were the best men. His tios and tias, he would enjoy just seeing them and remembered his childhood through them. His time with his friends, sharing with them and having good conversation was special to him.
He couldn’t wait to grab his gee and go to his martial arts school, Brazilian Top Team. He always said that he felt so good there! He wanted to one day be a black belt, it was his dream. He enjoyed music, he was definitely a DJ! He picked unique songs, and he heard the lyrics with passion, and would sing to them. He liked to play with new technology, and oh was he savvy with it! He loved to try new foods, especially seafood and steak, and see new places in the world, he loved adventure. Being out in the world excited him, the ocean was his spot. He said because he was a Pisces fish that liked to be free like the fish in the water! He just wanted to enjoy life!
He also loved God, and worship music. He would get up bright and early to go to church every Sunday! He read his bible, and talked often about the way God loved unconditionally, and how forgiving God was. And he would minister to others about having faith, being positive and trusting God, and remind them that things would work out.
Rene and Claudia have been each other’s great love, and Alessandrita their daughter, is a fruit of their love. He loved being her father. He held her so gently, combed her hair as best he could and loved to play with her and watch baby music videos with her. He showed her Star Wars, documentaries about dinosaurs, and about fishes. They both loved the fishes! He couldn’t wait to hold her and play, that was his great joy. In these last months, he was able to share Disneyland with his Alessandra, and he said his dream was to take her to the zoo, and go as a family, and he fulfilled that dream recently. His moments with his baby were everything, and she loved to run into the protective arms of her papi!
Rene always let Claudia know how much he loved her. They looked for each other, no matter what they were going through. They felt they could conquer anything together. He always reminded Claudia that he was her and Alessandra’s protector. They laughed and were silly together. Their life together, dinners, sharing food, talking, laughing was their best time. Their drives, listening to music with their baby in the backseat were full of thoughts for their future together. They knew each other like no one else, they were best friends.
Rene touched many of our hearts, and we will not forget him because through his love, he left a piece of him that will live on forever. From the heavens above, Rene can see all the love that has burst from our hearts in these last days. He can see that we weren’t ready to not share life with him anymore. We want more of him! But, we could already feel his spirit live so loudly in us. We are sure that it fills him with happiness to know that he was loved by so many. His life was meaningful because he felt love and togetherness was everything. He loved all of us, and he loved life!
Thank you Rene, for 39 years of blessing each of us that was in your life. Thank you for giving us so much of you, for being you! For that unforgettable contagious smile that made us smile and melt! We love you and your principle of love and relationship will live on in our lives forever! We celebrate you for teaching us so much through your person, your character, your words.
